Draws thousands of people from near and far to the 5-mile square township in northeast Ohio mid-March every year.

A Hinckley Tradition

Organized by the Hinckley Chamber since the first Buzzard Day in 1957, the legend of the Great Hinckley Hunt is an accounting of the annual return of the buzzards, drawing the curious, nature lovers, and history buffs.

The All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast Scholarship Fundraiser

The centerpiece event is complimented by a day long craft fair, live buzzard educational presentations, a mini-carnival, and other free entertainment.

A Community Volunteer Effort

Local volunteers from civic groups, churches, scout organizations, fire and police departments, as well as committed community members, work together to welcome Buzzard Day visitors the first Sunday on or after March 15 each year.

Buzzard Day Sponsorships Help Raise Scholarship Awards of $1,000 each

$20,000 in scholarships have been awarded since 2016.

The Chamber also donates to local charities, the police and fire departments, as we are able.

How to Help

The Hinckley Chamber of Commerce is a 503(c)6 non-profit which seeks donations and sponsorships to cover the expenses associated with the pancake breakfast: pancake mix, sausages, coffee, juice, milk, syrup, disposable plates-cutlery-napkins-placemats, cleaning supplies, traffic control, insurance, advertising & printing.

Sponsors will be recognized in all advertising, promotional materials and in signage throughout the venue the day of the event.

Advertising & Promotional Campaign

Press releases and social media announcements begin in October, adding local press coverage over the months with increasing frequency in March up until the event on March 24.
